Lundgren Tree Farm

Menominee, Upper Peninsula Michigan

This 1880 homestead was purchased in the 1950s by Victor Lundgren and over the course of four decades, transformed into an eccentric oasis of nature, art and tranquility. The chicken coupe was converted into a cottage, the barn divided into bedrooms, an art studio, office and workshop, another out building became the silver dollar pool hall. Set against Birch Creek and less than a mile from Lake Michigan, "Farm" has been a retreat for artists, nature lovers and the extended Lundgren family.

The Lundgren Tree Farm is rented out on Airbnb from May 1st to October 31st, with a residency program the first two weeks of November. As this model is tested and explored, we hope to open the doors to more artists and creative people looking for a time out and a place to write, paint, make music or just hike through the woods.
