Set against 20 acres on the north side of Joshua Tree National Park, Soft Rock is a writer's paradise. With pinon pine, manznita oak, juniper, yucca and joshua trees tucked amongst boulders and rock outcroppings, it is the place to unwind, disconnect and inhale that high desert air.
With two cabins and counting, an outdoor fireplace, sleeping porches and a common cooking area, Soft Rock is a rustic and rugged artist get away with a silence that is deafening and stargazing that is staggering.
Applications for artist residencies will begin in the spring of 2018.
