Lundgren Monuments

Lundgren Monuments was founded in 2004 under the simple premise that cemeteries are sculpture parks and no two people are alike. In a sea of granite headstones, we saw the opportunity to introduce color and diversity. For those choosing cremation, we saw the urn as a sculptural object and the last tiny house a person would inhabit. Being critical of the current choices available in the death care industry, we sought out to broaden the range choices focused on high craft and modern design. Lundgren Monuments continues to examine and challenge our ideas of memorialization—designing sculptural monuments, modern urns and caskets, advocating for sustainable practices, writing children's books about death, curating group exhibitions and slowly transforming the world's cemeteries into vibrant, art infused public spaces.
