This crowd sourced, 17,000 square foot exhibit, distributed $10,000 in art grants in fine art, performance, creative writing, photography, graphic design, fashion design and architecture throughout the summer of 2009. Dada Economics culminated in the display of the over 500 submissions with three active Arbitrary Art Grants transpiring over the course of the festival.

Straight to Video: The First Ten Years of Vital 5

June 8 – July 20, 2007

911 Media Art Center, Seattle

This six-week exhibition displayed a decades worth of video, photography and artifacts that celebrate and recall the projects and exhibitions that show how much fun and trouble we’ve had over the years. It was also an opportunity to organize thousands of photographs and over thirty hours of never-before-seen video. The result was a priceless glimpse into the past, showcasing a great range of projects and Seattle artists.

 

 

The Island

A collaboration between Vital 5 Productions and SuttonBeresCuller.  This endurance performative installation leaves John Sutton, Ben Beres and Zac Culler on an artificial desert island dressed as shipwreck survivors.
